Brando’s Secret Weapon and Why You Need One Too

🔫 “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse.”
One of the best lines in cinematic history.
Did you know Brando used cue cards during that scene? 👇

→They were held by other actors or strategically placed around the set.
→He felt that by reading his lines in real-time, his delivery would be more spontaneous and authentic than a rehearsed performance.
→Brilliant and crazy right?

Great salespeople do too.
→I’ve seen BDR’s tape post-it notes to their monitors.
→I keep my notes on the screen.
→Other people write it on their hands.
→No they don’t, who would do that?

To say Brando’s method worked is the understatement of the year.
→You know what we learned?
🌟 A little improv can lead to greatness.

In sales, scripts serve a similar purpose:
→Crispness – Authenticity and clarity are key.
→Continuity – Keep the same talk track for the target segments.
→Master Communicator – Practice makes perfect.
→Scripts or bullet points – They act as barriers, keeping me on track because I love veering off

💪 Just as Brando used cue cards to keep his performance sharp and authentic, sales scripts serve as our guide to staying on message and delivering with confidence.

Guess what else it does?
→You end up learning the points.
→They become part of your DNA.
→You sound authentic, natural and confident.
→Scripts make you a master of your craft.

But use the script as a foundation and not a crutch.
→You’ll sound authentic, not robotic, and keep the conversation natural.

When used right:
→It will be a great guide.
→It will help you stay in the moment.
→It will maintain a natural flow of conversation.
→It will help you strike a balance between structure and adaptability.
→If you can deliver a pitch like Brando, you are definitely onto something.

Whether you’ve used a script before or not, try it today and see if it helps your conversations.

P.S. Do you use scripts?
